Sometimes I really wonder
Do I deserve this?
With all the cheers and giggles
that you bring and drizzle
all over me like the first rain of spring

My hands and my skin; bone-dry
with cracks and crevasses,
your touch moistens them
turning into an oasis
soft and cool and green grasses

All I can offer is
roughness and scratches
scars and bruises
Too scared to hold tight
Too coward to let go
A monster.

Sometimes I really wonder
Does a monster deserve this?
that can do nothing but harm
even with a hug with his arms
And the answer might kill me.
